Advance Registration

Advance registration benefits include lower cost and a speedy onsite check-in.Your conference badge will be preprinted and all materials waiting for you. You must pay online or postmark payment by June 10th.

Advance registration dates February 15 to June 10

Onsite registration

Onsite registration rates take effect on June 11th. You will continue to have the option of paying online by Visa or MasterCard at the onsite rate through June 15th. If you are paying by check after June 10th, you will need to register and pay onsite at the conference. Onsite registration begins on June 19th at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in downtown Washington DC. Please see the section labeled "Conference Hub and Registration Headquarters" in this guide for further information.

Conference fees cover all conference activities from Thursday, June 20th through Sunday, June 23rd.There is no partial or daily registration. You do have the option of attending only the Career Fair for the price as listed below.

*To get a couple’s rate if neither partner is a member:

  1. One person must register at the non-member rate (the fee includes a 1 year individual membership).
  2. Then the spouse can register at the "Spouse of Member" rate
  3. If you are registering as part of a couple, enter spouse name in slot provided.
  4. If you and your spouse already have a couple’s membership, you can both register at the "Member" rate.
Children 16 and under can attend the conference with a registered adult at no charge.

Couples:

Each individual must register and pay for the conference on a separate online form if they wish to attend the conference events. Entrance to most events will require a conference badge. If you are attending with your spouse or life partner who will want to attend conference events, please reference the above charts for "Spouse of Member" rates

Non-members:

If you are not a member of NPCA, or your membership has lapsed, a one year individual NPCA membership is included in your non-member conference registration fee. With your NPCA membership you will get a subscription to WorldView Magazine, the 3/1/61 newsletter, membership in one Country of Service, Geographic or Special Interest Group, Global TeachNet, the Emergency Response Network and countless contacts and networking opportunities. All of this will keep you abreast and informed of global as well as local issues that affect Peace Corps Alumni. NPCA will send confirmation of your membership. If you are joining as a couple and wish to take advantage of a special couples’ membership rate, please see the pricing schedule above for instructions on how to register for the conference and pay a couples’ membership at the same time. If you prefer, you can also go to http://www.rpcv.org, click on "Join/Support the NPCA" and proceed to join online at that site. You can then come back to the online registration form and each register as a member.

Don't know if you are a current member? Can't find your membership number? Email the NPCA membership department here: membership@rpcv.org (please provide your full name, address and Country of Service with any inquiry) and they will promptly respond with the answer to your question, or you can call direct at 202-293-7728 ext. 15.

Career Fair Only

This year you will have the option of only attending the Career Fair and Workshops. "Career Fair Only" registrants will be given a special conference badge and will not be eligible for entry to other conference events or for the box lunches. These registrants should not fill out the sections on the online form labeled "Conference Attendance Information" and Meals.

  • Pay online with your Visa or MasterCard at our secure online site. Your confirmation will be emailed to the email address you provide.
  • Pay by check. Upon submitting your application, an invoice will be emailed to the email address you provide. You will remit payment with this invoice to the address below. Checks should be made payable to NPCA.

Please allow 2 weeks for payment processing if you send in payment with an invoice. All registration confirmations will be emailed to the email address you provide. You will be given a conference tracking number to reference when making any inquiries into your registration.

Refunds

All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to NPCA Conference, c/o Conference Solutions, P.O. Box 7276, Fairfax Station, VA 22039-7276. Please reference your conference tracking number in any written correspondence. You will receive a refund on your conference fee and meals, less a $30.00 processing fee, if your request is postmarked by May 15. You will receive a 50 percent refund if your request is postmarked between May 16 and June 10. (For new members, the membership portion of your fee will not be returned and your NPCA membership and all benefits will remain intact.) After June 10, registration is completely nonrefundable.

This year we will be publishing a list of attendees by Country of Service and by Geographic Group affiliations.You can access this section at any time by entering http://www.customconference.com/npca/attendees.html. You will be asked to check a box if you want to appear on this list. On the online form, "Preferred Badge Name" will be the name used on the list of attendees. Please take advantage of this wonderful service to let your friends know you are coming. Please note that only paid registrants who have checked the box allowing us to publish their name will appear on this list.

The NPCA has arranged a special rate of $119.00 per night single or double occupancy at the Omni Shoreham Hotel. The Omni is located at 2500 Calvert St. NW, Washington, DC 20008. To make your reservation, please call the hotel directly at 202-234-0700 or the Omni Central Reservations at 800-THE-OMNI and ask for the National Peace Corps Association group rate. You will be required to give a one night deposit to hold your room. Reservations will be on a first come, first served basis, so reserve early. The cut off date to receive this rate is June 1. Check-in time at the Omni is 3p.m. and check-out time 12 noon. For more information on the Omni Shoreham, go to www.omnihotels.com .

To reserve a block of rooms you must have the list of names for each room and a credit card to guarantee each room. Registration headquarters is the Omni Shoreham Hotel at 2500 Calvert St. NW, Washington DC 20008; 202-234-0700.This will be the conference "hub". The closest metro (subway) stop is "Woodley Park" on the red line. Conference check-in/onsite registration schedule as follows:

After you have registered and paid for the conference, you will receive a confirmation letter via email. Please bring this with you to the conference and present it at registration check-in at the Omni Shoreham Hotel, where you will be given your conference badge, registration materials and meal tickets if applicable.

CONFERENCE ACTIVITIES

Conference activities are being held in various locations throughout the Nation’s Capital. Please access the NPCA web site at http://www.rpcv.org and click on Honor the 40th for the latest additions to the conference schedule.

On the registration form, you will be asked to indicate your interest for the following events that are included in the conference price. Please check only those you plan to attend. You will be contacted with additional information as it becomes available.

  • Advocacy Day - on Thursday, June 20th, teams of participants will learn to advocate for issues of concern to Peace Corps Alumni and some of the NPCA’s affiliate groups Please include the name of your congressional representative in the slot provided. Orientation for Advocacy Day is Wednesday night, June 19 at the Omni Shoreham.
  • Business Symposium - Second Annual Business Symposium Thursday June 20, 9am-5pm. The theme of this years Business Symposium is "The Nexus of Peace Corps and Business Values" This event will explore the ever-expanding and enriching role of the Peace Corps Alumni in America’s business sector. >The event will highlight the outstanding contributions of Peace Corps Alumni working in the private sector, and the corporations who appreciate and value their diverse experience. Areas for examination will include individuals and organizations focusing on international economic development, general management, marketing, finance and human resources. The symposium will feature a keynote speaker, a luncheon speaker, roundtable presentations and a panel discussion. All NPCA members are welcome to the symposium programs at no cost. Luncheon tickets will cost extra.
  • Volunteer Day - Participate in neighborhood community service activities on Saturday, June 22nd.

You will also have the opportunity to check a box if you are interested in attending the Peace Corps Staff Reunion. This is an additional cost event that will take place on Friday evening at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. If you check this box you will receive information on how to purchase tickets for this event.
